A sweeter, smarter choice for Cool Springs

Locally-owned Yogurt World Cafe offers great taste, great toppings along with diabetic-safe and lactose-free alternatives

FRANKLIN, TN – Self-serve frozen yogurt lovers in Cool Springs have a new destination that offers better taste along with alternatives that don’t leave diabetics or the lactose intolerant out in the cold.

Independent, locally-owned Yogurt World Café, located on Cool Springs Boulevard across the street from P.F. Chang’s, is drawing rave reviews for its commitment to serving taste buds of all kinds in the Franklin area.

“What’s different about us? Most people are shocked to find that Yogurt World has just one owner, and not an ownership group or a franchise,” says Jenny Gregory, the store’s 27-year-old founder. “But the main thing is, it just tastes better. I tried them all, and got a lot of other people to try them, and we’ve picked the best. You just have to taste it and see.”

With temperatures on the rise and Williamson County kids out of school, Cool Springs moviegoers won’t have to go far to find a summer blockbuster this year. Yogurt World Café, with its convenient location adjacent to Thoroughbred Cinemas, offers 70 rotating flavors including favorites like birthday cake, Euro Tart, peanut butter and traditional vanilla. In addition to a wide array of traditional toppings, Yogurt World dishes out fresh fruit along with soft-serve that meets the needs of those with special diets, including fat-free choices.

“We actually have yogurt that is lactose-safe,” says Gregory.  “It is really important to me that we offer those alternatives.”

Yogurt World Café offers an experience that is affordable and individualized for every customer according to their tastes and appetites. Customers simply weigh their purchase and pay by the ounce, allowing them to purchase as little or much as they want. They can also choose from a selection of cupcakes, coffee and drinks.

While operating the frozen yogurt machines that are built into the colorful pink and green mosaic tile wall, customers can be sure that they are making a health-conscious choice. For years, yogurt has been shown to be beneficial to the immune system and for building strong bones. Strong teeth, clear skin and lower cholesterol levels are also results of yogurt intake. According to the National Yogurt Association, eating yogurt is also thought to help combat certain types of cancer-causing compounds, particularly in the digestive tract.

Yogurt World Café’s customers enjoy comfortable surroundings and free Wi-Fi along with great music and friendly service. Store hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.
